But what is bagasse exactly? It consists of plant fibers left over after extracting sugar juice from sugarcane. This juice often finds its way into the confectionery industry. Bagasse is essentially bio-waste! The term comes from the French word "bagage," which means "waste." This bagasse is an excellent and sustainable alternative to many disposables, such as meal trays and plates.

Custom-printed bio coffee cups

Our single-wall reCUP™ coffee cups with your custom design offer a significant advantage: they can be disposed of in the paper recycling bin after use. These cups feature a revolutionary inner layer called EarthCoating®, an innovative coating made from polyolefin (PE) resin and calcium carbonate. With the reCUP, you provide users with a sustainable cup that can be fully recycled.

We also offer custom-printed double-wall bio cups with an inner PLA coating. These cups not only keep beverages warm for longer but are also theoretically compostable according to the European EN 13432 standard. Cups that meet this standard decompose by at least 95% within 12 weeks in an industrial composting environment. However, in practice, waste processors in the Benelux currently allocate only about 4 weeks for the composting process. As a result, most coffee cups do not decompose in time, meaning that even PLA-coated cups often end up in residual waste.
